Attack of the Nerd...Gov. Rick Snyder Attacks Michigan's Working Families

It has been awhile since I have last posted on here and for that I apologize. For those of you who have paid attention to this site all these long months, I wish to thank you. While it is kind of irrelevant to how the extreme right is attempting to destroy our American way of life, I would like to explain why I haven’t posted a blog in some time. The answer is simple. I no longer have internet being that I lost my job a few months ago and the internet was one of those things I decided to cut in order to save money. However on a good note, it looks like I have a job again so the internet connection should be coming back soon. Until then, I will be posting when I can while at school.

Now a lot has happened since my last post. For one, Gov. Rick Snyder, the toughest nerd of them all, has revealed that he is a political tyrant. This is no joke. There is no euphemism here, this is a fact! Gov. Rick Snyder is a tyrant. He has passed a law that allows him to ignore the will of the people in cities, towns, and school districts where he feels they are in need of an emergency financial manager who has the power to fire all of the elected officials if he/she so chooses and place in new officials simply because he/she can. Now as Rachel Maddow of MSNBC likes to ask, is this small, leave me alone government or is it big out of control government?

It is easy to dismiss these actions if you do not care that your voice is being ignored by the governor, however I for one, like the fact that we live in a democracy and are able to choose who are elected officials are. However, Gov. Rick Snyder is attempting to silence our voices in the name of financial security. By signing a law that gives him the power to appoint an Emergency Financial Manager who then has the power to remove publicly elected officials out of office, Gov. Snyder is silencing the voices of this great state. The citizens of Benton Harbor have been made aware of this. The Emergency Financial Manager of that city fired the mayor and the city council. He also has the power to void union contracts of public workers of Benton Harbor. Oh and just so you know. The Emergency Financial Manager is being paid twice as much as the city council and the mayor would have been paid. Sounds like a financial con job if you ask me. However we already know this is not about saving money. This is about silencing the voices of the poor, the disenfranchised, and every other group that typically votes for Democrats.

Kudos to Republicans for their con job on the people of Michigan. They got a tyrant elected to be the Governor of Michigan and now he is doing what he secretly planned all along. Silence those who disagree and remove the elected officials who they support. This leaves them without a voice without someone to defend them from Gov. Synder’s plans. However there is still hope. Soon the petitions will be out and come next year, Gov. Snyder may be leaving office as quickly as he took it. I for one, cannot wait.
